A grand final of the junior song contest ‘Our generation 2024’ took place in Kazan

On November 16, 2024, Kazan hosted a bright final of the junior song contest “Our generation 2024”. More than 2,000 spectators gathered in the hall to enjoy the music festival.

The “Our generation” contest features talented children and teenagers aged 9 to 16. They must perform a new piece of music live, either having written it themselves or having taken an active part in its creation. This year, representatives from 15 countries showed their skills in the final round of the competition: Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Mongolia, Nigeria, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Russia.

According to the audience voting results, 11-year-old Filamatra Matokia from the Republic of Madagascar, who performed the song “IRAY” (“Together”), took the first place. The professional jury gave preference to 12-year-old singer Augusto Carvalho from Brazil, who presented the composition “100 Deus” (“100% God”).

“Our generation” gives young talents a chance to demonstrate their creative achievements on the international stage. This competition promotes cultural values, offers an educational program and forms the potential of the younger generation. Its main objectives are the exchange of experience and strengthening of friendly relations between participants. The event is also aimed at developing and supporting young talented performers, popularizing their work. In addition, it gives children and teenagers from all over the world the opportunity to get to know the diverse Russian culture.
