International Neset Ertas Culture and Art Festival

Kirsehir transformed the Neşet Ertaş Culture and Art Festival into an international festival to reach the global level and create synergies between the cities in the network.

Our commitment was to invite other UCCN cities that have artists to design music-related souvenirs to this festival. That’s why we brought a “çini” master and a silversmith from that city from Kütahya, the crafts and folk art city,to promote their local music-themed souvenir designs at their stands

By this International Memorial Festival, the UCCN Mission Statement Goals of”Strengthening international cooperation between cities that accept creativity as a strategic factor for their sustainable development” was realized.

Since this international festival was open to everyone free of charge and music concerts took place within the festival, the goal of “Improving access to and participation in cultural life, as well as the enjoyment of cultural goods and services, especially for marginalized or vulnerable groups and individuals” was achieved.

In this international festival, a total of 53 participants from Germany, Italy, Georgia who are represents and musicians of UNESCO music cities , who are experts in the field of issues that deal with the problems of local musicians, was covered by the UCCN Mission statement “fully integrate culture and creativity into local development strategies and plans” was also achieved.
