PARK SI YEON TRIO, a young artistic group representing Daegu, a UNESCO City of Music, performed in jazz concerts worldwide for a month starting in June.

PARK SI YEON TRIO has no boundaries or concepts, aiming to create “All music for the world!” Inspired solely by pure sound, their music is distinguished by intense interplay rooted in free jazz melodies. The trio consists of three members: Siyeon Park (piano, composition), Chanok Kim (bass), and Hyogi Kim (drums). The music of PARK SI YEON TRIO, which conveys local sentiments, is particularly prominent during live performances.

The team also performed “Bird, Bird, Blue Bird,” the main theme song of “Jazz Day Relay,” a collaborative project of the UNESCO Cities of Music Cluster in commemoration of International Jazz Day on April 30, 2024.

A total of eight shows were held successfully, starting in Mannheim, Germany, on June 6th; Katowice, Poland, on the 14th; Bydgoszcz, Poland, on the 16th; Hanover, Germany, on the 20th and 21st; Pesaro, Italy, on the 22nd; and London, Canada, on July 4th.

This tour was promoted through the UNESCO Cities of Music network and was made possible through the valuable and active cooperation of Hanover and Mannheim in Germany, Katowice and Bydgoszcz in Poland, Pesaro in Italy, and London in Canada.

Siyeon Park, the team leader, remarked, “Through this performance, I was able to clearly witness the impact of the Cities of Music network and was deeply moved. I am sincerely grateful to the various cities that welcomed us and supported us in delivering an outstanding performance.”
